Ice explorer! Fox glacier

I managed to get a place on the 12:15 fox glacier hike with tera and jasmine yesterday.
We got picked up at 12ish and were driven to the fox glacier centre just at the foot of the glacial valley.

The weather was horrendous so there was a big chance that the walk could have been called off butthankfully  we were very lucky and our walk went ahead!
We were given hiking boots, crampons, waterproof pants, hats and gloves and were taken to the glacier by professional guides.

The tour lasted about 4 hours and involved us walking up the valley to the start of the glacier and having to climb up the side of the valley again past rock fall zones to the glacier itself.  We got absolutely soaked but it was worth it, to experience a glacier is absolutely amazing as many of them may not be here within 30-50 years or so.
We were shown various ice formations and crevasses.  I dont have that many photos as my camera got very wet because of the heavy rain, but the ones I do have are quite decent.

The glacier!

Yeah i look really uncomfortable because we had to walk through ice cold rivers and my feet were soaked, having to then walk on a huge mass of ice for 1 hour with wet feet is also not that nice, but experiencing the glacier itself made up for it.

Looking up at the rest of the glacier

Looking down into the glacial valley
