Greymouth - Franz Josef

We got up early and drove to Franz josef again visiting more sites along the way and exploring the beautiful scenery of the west coast of the south island.

We then went to the bushmans centre in Pukerua to learn about how New Zealanders have coped with hunting and farming unwanted species that ruin the landscape.  These species include, deer, possums and goats

Possum!

When we arrived at Franz Josef it was pretty rushed, we unpacked got changed and basically had a really good new years eve bash in the bar at the hostel.  Several other tourists from stray and kiwi experience buses turned up so it was a massive party that went on into the morning.
